Hi, there! And thanks for visiting Questionable Evolution.
My name is Erin Zimmerman, and I’m a molecular biologist and science writer. My background, academically, is in fungal genetics, floral morphology, and molecular systematics. I also recently completed a post-doc in transcriptomics. I got into biology because I love learning about the oddballs of nature; those species with really bizarre ways of doing things. Of course, once you look closely enough, there’s really no such thing as a ‘normal’ species… they’re all unusual in some respect. My hope, each week on this blog, is to dive into some interesting phenomenon, species, or evolutionary development, and explore how it came to exist and what the wider implications may be.
I’m always interested to know what readers think, so if you have a comment or there’s a topic you’d love to see covered, drop me a line at QuestionableEvolution [at] gmail.com. You can also follow me on Twitter @DoctorZedd.
Happy reading!
